Job Purpose

To lead the engineering design team in developing cost-effective, safe, and efficient designs for utility monopoles, high mast poles, and related steel structures. Responsible for managing design activities, ensuring compliance with international standards, and supporting production, sales, and project execution teams with accurate engineering deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Design & Engineering
• Prepare and review designs, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings for monopoles, high mast poles, and other structures.
• Ensure designs meet client specifications, project requirements, and relevant standards (IS, ASTM, IEC, AISC, BS, etc.).
• Optimize designs for structural strength, weight reduction, and manufacturability.
• Review and approve detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs) and ensure accuracy for procurement and production.
  • 2. Team Leadership & Resource Management
• Lead and mentor a team of design engineers and draftsmen.
• Allocate design workload and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Conduct technical training to enhance team capability in design tools and industry standards.
  • 3. Coordination & Cross-Functional Support
• Collaborate with Sales, PPC, Procurement, and Production teams to provide design clarifications.
• Support proposal and tender teams with design inputs, drawings, and BOQs.
• Resolve design-related issues during fabrication, galvanizing, and installation stages.
  • 4. Standards, Compliance & Documentation
• Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and other relevant industry norms.
• Maintain engineering documentation, revision control, and design records.
• Drive standardization of designs, templates, and processes to improve efficiency.
  • 5. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Introduce innovative design solutions to improve product performance and reduce cost.
• Evaluate and implement new design software, analysis tools, and best practices.
• Participate in R&D initiatives for new products and improved structural solutions.

Qualifications & Experience
• Education: B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 8–15 years of experience in structural design of steel monopoles, high masts, transmission towers, or heavy fabrication industry.
• Technical Skills:
 - Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, PLS CADD, PLS Pole, PLS Tower, and related design software.
 - Sound knowledge of structural analysis, wind load calculations, and connection design.
 - Familiarity with international codes: IS 875, IS 800, AISC, BS EN, ASCE.
