Position Title: Mechanical Quality Engineer - Solar Projects

Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control Management:
  - Develop and implement quality control plans for mechanical components and installations in solar projects.
  - Establish inspection criteria and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and project specifications.
  - Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess the quality of mechanical systems and identify areas for improvement.
  - Monitor the performance of mechanical equipment and address any issues that may affect project efficiency or safety.

2. Compliance and Documentation:
  - Ensure adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing solar projects, including but not limited to ASME, ASTM, and NEC.
  - Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and compliance documentation.
  - Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  - Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for internal review and regulatory compliance.

3. Supplier and Contractor Management:
  - Evaluate the quality of materials and components supplied by vendors and subcontractors to ensure they meet project requirements.
  - Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to assess quality management processes and capabilities.
  - Provide guidance and support to subcontractors and construction teams to ensure proper installation and assembly of mechanical systems.

4. Continuous Improvement:
  - Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in mechanical installation procedures.
  - Implement best practices and quality assurance methodologies to optimize project performance and reliability.
  - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate lessons learned and feedback into future project planning and execution.

5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
  - Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship in all mechanical operations and installations.
  - Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
  - Investigate and address any safety incidents or environmental concerns related to mechanical systems and installations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in quality engineering, preferably in the renewable energy or solar industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, NEC) and regulatory requirements for solar projects.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in quality management tools and techniques.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus.
- Experience with quality assurance software and documentation systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
