Role Overview
The AGM – Regional Manager (SCM) will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain management for the Monopoles business across the North and North-East regions. The role involves strategic planning, regional execution, vendor management, logistics coordination, inventory optimization, and close collaboration with manufacturing and project teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery to customers and project sites.
The incumbent will spend the first 6 months at the Matar facility to gain comprehensive exposure to manufacturing processes, material planning, vendor ecosystems, and SCM systems before transitioning to Lucknow for regional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute regional SCM strategies aligned with overall business and project requirements.
- Own material planning, demand forecasting, and supply alignment for monopole projects across North & North-East.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across procurement, logistics, and inventory without compromising quality or timelines.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Lead regional and strategic sourcing for raw materials, bought-out items, and services related to monopole manufacturing and projects.
- Identify, develop, and manage regional and national vendor base, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and delivery reliability.
- Negotiate contracts, rate agreements, and long-term supply arrangements with key suppliers.
Logistics & Distribution
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound logistics, including heavy and oversized monopole dispatches to project locations.
- Optimize freight, transportation modes, and route planning to ensure timely deliveries across challenging geographies, especially the North-East.
- Coordinate with transporters, third-party logistics providers, and internal teams for smooth execution.
Inventory & Warehousing Management
- Ensure optimal inventory levels at plant, regional warehouses, and project sites.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce slow-moving, excess, or obsolete stock.
- Drive accuracy in stock records, ageing analysis, and material audits.
Regional Execution & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the single-point SCM contact for regional sales, projects, and execution teams.
- Coordinate closely with manufacturing, quality, finance, and project management teams to support on-time project execution.
- Support critical projects through proactive risk identification and contingency planning.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and mentor regional SCM teams, including procurement, logistics, and stores personnel.
- Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and build a strong culture of ownership and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, systems, and compliance standards.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Drive standardization of SCM processes, systems, and reporting across the region.
- Implement best practices in ERP/SAP-based SCM operations.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and governance requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Electrical preferred).
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Materials Management – preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of overall experience in supply chain / materials / logistics management.
- Minimum 5–7 years in a regional or leadership SCM role within manufacturing or project-driven organizations.
- Strong exposure to monopoles, transmission structures, steel fabrication, infrastructure, power, or EPC projects is highly preferred.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in end-to-end SCM, including procurement, logistics, inventory, and vendor management
- Experience handling large, heavy, and customized steel structures
- Commercial acumen with negotiation and cost optimization skills
- Ability to manage multi-location and geographically dispersed operations
