Job Description: Sr. Electrical Engineer – Solar Project


Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee the electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning of a solar power project. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing system efficiency, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Design & Engineering

  • Design electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and system architecture for solar power plants.
  • Perform load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies.
  • Design and size transformers, inverters, switchgear, cables, and grounding systems.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes (IEC, NEC, CEA, etc.).

2. Project Execution & Installation

  • Supervise the installation of electrical components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, SCADA, and protection systems.
  • Ensure quality control during procurement and installation.
  • Coordinate with the civil and mechanical teams to ensure smooth execution of electrical works.
  • Oversee electrical cabling, earthing, and lightning protection system installations.

3. Testing & Commissioning

  • Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests on electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify any electrical issues during testing.
  • Ensure the grid synchronization of the solar power plant.

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to local electrical safety and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain all project-related documentation, including test reports, drawings, and as-built reports.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, DISCOMs, and EPC contractors for approvals.


Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Experience in solar power plant design, installation, or commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of power system design, protection, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with solar inverters, switchgear, SCADA, and grid interconnection requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and team coordination abilities.
