Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Assessment and Preparation:
  • Conduct site surveys and geological investigations to assess site conditions and determine suitability for wind turbine installations.
  • Develop site preparation plans, including access roads, crane pads, and foundation locations.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical engineers to analyse soil and subsoil conditions and recommend appropriate foundation designs.
  • Foundation execution and Construction:
  • Design and oversee the construction of turbine foundations, including concrete and reinforced steel structures.
  • Ensure that foundation designs comply with engineering standards, load requirements, and environmental considerations.
  • Monitor foundation construction to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Structural Engineering:
  • Design and analyse supporting structures for wind turbines, such as towers, access platforms, and support buildings.
  • Perform structural calculations and simulations to verify the stability and load-bearing capacity of structures.
  • Address and resolve any structural issues or challenges that arise during construction.
  • Coordination and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineers to integrate civil engineering aspects with overall project design and execution.
  • Work closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and local authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Quality Control and Safety:
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure that civil engineering works meet all project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor construction progress, safety practices, and adherence to design requirements.
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure safe working conditions on site.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design calculations, construction reports, and project records.
  • Generate and present progress reports on civil engineering activities, including any issues, delays, or changes.
  • Optimization and Improvement:
  • Analyze civil engineering processes and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Stay informed about the latest technologies and best practices in civil engineering and integrate them into projects where applicable.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. A master’s degree or professional engineering license (PE) is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of [5-7] years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with experience in wind turbine projects or similar renewable energy sectors.
  • Proven experience in foundation design, structural analysis, and site preparation.
  • Familiarity with civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SAP2000, ETABS) and design principles.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials, methods, and engineering principles.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes related to civil engineering.
